Just a quick note to update you on Elliot's progress. As some of you know, Elliot became very ill earlier in the week. After several horrible tests in the ER (including three attempts at a lumbar puncture to rule out meningitis), we were transported to the specialty children's hospital where we've been since Tuesday night.
After some very scary days, it looks like Elliot is going to be fine (although he still has a bit of a bumpy road in front of him). The tests are not completely conclusive until tomorrow afternoon, but it looks like he developed an E.Coli infection in his urinary tract which has spread to his kidneys and blood stream. Thankfully this is a surprisingly common and treatable bacterial infection in little newborns.
He's already on strong antibiotics and his temperature and discomfort have improved dramatically in the last 24 hours. It looks like we'll be in hospital at least through the weekend so they can monitor his progress, but today Elliot's doctors were very hopeful that he would make a full recovery (and hopefully feel a bit more like eating).
We're so grateful. It has been so difficult to see my tiny wee boy go through so much so early in his life. We're just so thankful that everything looks like it will be fine and we'll be able to take Elliot home again soon. Keep us in your thoughts.

So happy to be home!

After a full week in the hospital we were finally able to go home on Friday. Elliot had lost more weight than they'd like to see and just isn't interested in eating. He'd rather sleep ALL the time! Hopefully, he'll wake up and decide he's hungry soon!
Nacho, as you can see, is quite interested in little Elliot, and races to his crib whenever Elliot makes the slightest peep.
Elliot at Bath Time
Here's Elliot's 2nd bath video. He seems to love his baths and just kicks back and totally relaxes that is until Mom and Dad do something stupid. (We'll have to work on our video commentary, I know)

Three Weeks and Counting
Now that Itty's arrival is just around the corner I reckon the time is ripe for some wagering. Here's your chance to get your speculations on the record. Let us know what you think:
- Day of arrival?
- Sex?
- Weight?
- Hair color?
- Other distinguishing features (ie. six fingers on each hand or possibly x-ray vision)?
Baby Shower
Last weekend my neighbor, Nikki, threw me a stupendous baby shower chock full of fun and games. Too bad it was a very hot and humid day and the air conditioning was just not cutting it (or maybe the sweat rings has something to do with the pregnancy hormones . . . oh well we've already established that I'm gross and sweaty these days. . . now you see it with your own eyes!)

It's a real shame that I didn't think to take a photo before we tore out the floral carpet and ornate velvet gold wallpaper.AFTER:
