Boulder Rock

Heidi and I decided to host a car rally to raise money for the The Ride to Conquer Cancer (more on this in another post). Finding some great checkpoints for the rally, involved some pretty serious recon and exploring our gorgeous little corner of Perth.

Boulder Rock was just one of the surprises we stumbled upon. This amazing place isn't even marked on the road. There's no car park and no signs, and it's incredible!! The boys loved running around climbing on and posing with all the incredible boulders. And the boys can't wait to go back!

Barnaby Bear

It was Oliver's turn to host Barnaby Bear, and he sure did take great care of him, changing his clothes, and tucking him into bed, and taking him to do all sorts of fun things like the footy wind-up and to see Cubo at the theatre (which all of us agreed was such an awesome movie).

Ollie loves his two teachers

Okay, If I'm perfectly honest, Ollie LOVES Mrs Scidone (who he has most of the week). Wednesdays with Mrs Ingles aren't really his favourite because she makes him work too much. I think he's very lucky to have two very experienced teachers who care about him so much.

Book Week

This year the boys came up with two great (and more importantly, EASY) Book Week costumes. Ollie went as Spiderman (hey, he started in a comic book!) and Elliot wanted to go as Tom Gates, who is pretty much just a normal kid who plays in a band and likes to doodle. Thanks to Google Images and iron-on printer paper, we totally nailed Tom's "Dog Zombies" t-shirt. Book Week has never been easier!

Footy Wind-up

At the boys' final footy training, the parents played against the kids. Paul really gave it his all, but it was his American wife who stole the show. What the other parents didn't know was that I was Ollie's team's secret weapon, blocking the parents' passes and goals, and handing the ball over to the kids whenever I got it. During one possession, I decided to clear the ball and kick it deep into our scoring end. I surprised everyone (mostly myself!) when the ball went soaring straight through the goal posts for a 40 metre goal!

Athletics Carnival 2016

Our boys sure did give it their all at the school Athletics Carnival. Just check out Elliot and Oliver running their legs off.

And after using up all that energy, it was time to treat the kids at the Dome.

Beer brewer

Paul's recently gotten into brewing his own beer, and would you believe that he won an award on his very first batch? Not too shabby, darlin'.

Elliot gets an Honour Certificate

Elliot was awarded with another Honour Certificate this week. This one was for "your awesome attitude in class. You have tackled all of your work with determination and passion this week. We are so proud of you, and your outstanding similes are as special as stardust."

When I commented to Elliot how cool it is that he is learning about similes already and asked him to give me an example of one, he smiled at me and said, "You are as lovely as a rose."

You are going to be quite the heartbreaker, Elliot.

Kelmscott Farm Field Trip

Mom got to come with my classmates and I on our field trip to the Kelmscott Farm. I was so brave and fed and patted all the animals. Too bad it was such a rainy rainy day and we didn't get to see all the animals in the paddock. ~ Oliver
