My crazy boys!
I just love how Nacho and Elliot love playing together, and I'm really looking forward to when Elliot has his own big boy bed with Nacho sleeping at his feet.

Look out Bali cuz here I come!
Good thing Nana bought me some Balinese jammies so that I'll fit in with the other kids there! ~ Elliot
Toys, toys, toys!!!
Things have been going pretty well for me these days. Mommy and Daddy have been finding all sorts of good deals on toys and stuff for me lately. First, we stumbled upon a perfectly good plastic toddler gym with slide that some family put out on the side of the road on "Bring out your dead" day. Then they found a big boy tricycle for me at a yard sale for $10. But the best thing that Mommy discovered is a great website called the Gumtree where people post stuff they want to sell. Already she's found me a fantastic Imaginarium bead maze and a Fisher Price Little People farm. Add these new goodies to all my great birthday presents and I'm one toyed up little boy.
AND I LIKE TO PLAY WITH ALL MY TOYS ALL AT ONCE!
AND I LIKE TO PLAY WITH ALL MY TOYS ALL AT ONCE!
Now Mommy and Daddy are trying to teach me how to put my toys away, but I think I'll pretend I don't understand what that means for a little bit longer. ~ Elliot
Elizabeth's party
It's not just me who's turning one, but all my baby friends are too. Here's Elizabeth and I trying out her new couch at her birthday party. ~ Elliot
Fun at Activate
Guess what! A new play gym just opened up walking distance from our house. What a lucky guy am I! Here are some photos of Aine, Cailey and I checking out the place. Hopefully our mommies will bring us back there really soon. ~ Elliot

Elliot at one
Elliot is growing and changing so fast that I thought I'd take a minute to report on all that is Elliot at one year and two weeks of age.
Favourite Toys:
* his Spanish-speaking maracas that we take everywhere and the babies always fight over them
* his Fisher-Price Walker which he's just now learning to turn (before he would go full speed in a straight line until he crashed into something and then would walk around the walker and then push it backwards until he crashed into something)
* his jumping, giggling, round monster thing
* and his little finger puppets which he likes to take out of their box and then put them back in and then shake the box so they all fly everywhere and put them back in again and then put some of them in his walker basket and some in his new toy box and some under the couch and some in dad's shoe, etc.
Favourite Foods:
* cheese
* watermelon, bananas, oranges, and plums
* tortillas with beans and cheese
* his American puffs (what will we do when we run out of these)
* dirty rice
* spinach and cheese tortellini
* brocolli, peas, and pretty much anything else you can think of.
Lately, Elliot has realized that he can bite into things with his new little teeth and he's a bit of a handful at the grocery store. His little hands are everywhere in the produce section grabbing fruit and throwing it on the floor or better yet taking a big bite out of it. Gone are the days that I can give him an apple or banana or cucumber to play with while we go through the shop, they all end up with little bites taken out of them!
Favourite Things:
* Elliot continues to be a shameless flirt which still is endlessly amusing for me and Paul. I've never spoken to so many strangers in my life as I have since having Elliot in my life.
* Feeding himself is a new thing he really digs on. He pries the spoon from our hand and then pummels and stirs his food until he's ready to take out a scoop, then turns the spoon sideways and tries to get it into his mouth. If the food doesn't fall off, he has to sort of lick it off the spoon since his mouth isn't big enough to accomodate a spoon at that angle.
* Riding his bike on the street with the big kids is another source of joy for Elliot. He stands at the window looking out at them, talking and waving until I can't stand denying him anymore and take him out to push his walker or ride his tricycle with the rest of the kids. You should see his smile!
* But his all time favourite thing right now is dancing. He bounces on his knees and swings his hands in the air and squeals in delight. He's even started trying to snap his fingers like mommy does. It's so precious. And for some funny reason, Michael Jackson and Elvis get him going like nothing else. Watch out So You Think You Can Dance, Elliot's going to be shaking his pelvis and moon-walking across your stage soon!
Not-so-favourite Things:
* Baths. He loves swimming and splashing in water but has decided that he hates baths. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that we've implemented a no standing in the bath tub rule. I don't know; I'll just be happy when he decides he likes them again.
* Booger removal. Uh-uh he's not having any of that and consequently looks like a dirty snot monster more often than we like.
* Being made to do something he's not really feeling. Elliot no longer whines when he's unhappy, he squawks at us and kicks and gives us these really classic stern faces. I can see temper tantrums just around the corner. Won't that be fun?!?
