Elliot has just loved being a Cub Scout this year. Here he is, receiving his first two merit badges: cycling and swimming. And thanks to Nanna, Paul and I don't have to sew them on.

Turner Road Truckers
After our neighbour Sam introduced me to a great uphill walk from our neighborhood straight up a valley and ending up in Roleystone, a few of us school mums have been making the walk weekly. Paul wanted to give it a go, so we decided to give it a try as a family. Well guess what? These three dudes have got some grit and walked the whole way with no complaints. Such a fun walk in the bush!

Honour Certificate
On top of coming third in the school cross-country, this little dude also got an honour certificate for "his great improvement in working through challenges and problem solving especially when the class was making their marble runs." Awesome work!

Cross Country
This little superstar has knocked our socks off with his determination for his first school cross-country competition. Since the beginning of Term 2, Oliver has been so motivated and driven. He's convinced the whole family to go for training runs in the evenings, and cracks us up with the techniques he and his mates have been swapping for best running form.
During the practice runs at school Ollie has consistently come in second of all the boys in Year 1, just behind his bestie, Alex. On the big day, Ollie gave it his all, but much to everyone's surprise a little boy who'd never been in the front group in the practice runs ran an amazing race and finished in front of Oliver.
I was devastated for Ollie and was really worried how he would take coming in third, especially when first and second get medals. When I walked over to give him his hug, our amazing little man had his arm around the second place finisher telling him what an awesome job he did. This mama's heart just swelled.
Just look at him in action.
But Ollie wasn't the only son who made his parents proud on cross-country day. Last year during the competition, Elliot had quite a bad asthma attack which really frightened him. Despite this (and with a few talks from Mom and Dad about not using asthma as an excuse to not try to do your best), Elliot gave it his all and finished in the top half of his year. So so proud!

Tennis
El decided to give Auskick a miss this year and try tennis with his friend Marcus. It's so great to see El trying something new and really enjoying himself.
Ollie's Footy
This little guy is all about the footy at the moment. He watches the Dockers games on the telly with Paul, spends hours out front kicking the ball, and counts down the days of the week until Saturday when he gets to put on his Roleystone Tigers uniform and go and play with all of his mates.
Paul and I are so proud of Ollie who still worships his big brother, but is beginning to forge his own way and develop his own interests. And his smile is just awesome too!
