Whale Watching

Nearly two years ago, my wonderful coworkers chipped in to give me a Red Balloon experience voucher when I moved on to the Faculty of Business and Law. And after all this time, I finally cashed it in for one of the most perfect morning with my boys.

We boarded a boat up at Hillary's Boat Harbour, were invited to share one of the best areas of the boat with the nicest Italian Australian family with kids close in age to the boys, and raced over to Rottnest Island in hopes of spotting humpback whales on their migratory route back to the cold feeding grounds near Antarctica. Luck was on our side, and we got to watch a mama and baby whale for nearly an hour as they had a bit of a rest before continuing on their journey.

When we returned to Hillary's we gorged ourselves on a yummy lunch, caught ourselves some Pokemon, and had a bit of a splash in the still chilly waters of the harbour. It was all pretty perfect.

Little workers

These little worker bees have been helping out heaps fixing up things around the house. First, they helped Dad replace some rotten wood on the cubby house. Then, we've all busy scraping the paint off the badly sealed plaster walls and preparing them for paint in what will soon be Elliot's very own big kid bedroom. (We're all really looking forward to the boys having their own space. The persistent arguing and fighting has left Paul and I dangling on the edge of sanity!)
