Easter in Denmark

We had the bestest Easter weekend this year down at our friends' property in Denmark (Western Australia, not Europe) where they're building their tree-change home. The weather was a bit touch and go at first, but we didn't let that stop us. We geocached, visited a maze (where Ollie hid in plain sight!),

We visited the same alpaca tourist farm that Paul and I visited over ten years ago, when I came to visit Australia and check out the place to see whether I could see myself living here. I loved the alpaca farm then and loved it even more with these two animal loving boys!

And we spent heaps of time just hanging out at Peta and Super's property with Mitch, Lochie, and Justin. The five boys collected sticks, chopped at stumps, rode bikes, played cricket, and had a great time just hanging out at camp.

Just before we had to head back home, the weather cleared up and we made our way to some of the most beautiful rocky beaches where the boys hung out and pretended to be teenagers. It was mint.

Roadside pitstop
Thanks guys for letting us visit your beautiful new home. We can't wait to visit again once you're all moved in.

Monster Truck Mayhem

We all had so much fun going to the Monster Trucks for Ollie's birthday last year, that we went for a repeat! Just as much fun, and this time one of the trucks did a back flip!!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

We sure love you!!

Trapeze Artist

How lucky was I that ECU decided that giving their employees a free trapeze lesson was a good idea?!?! It was an absolutely FANTASTIC idea. And I JUMPED at it!

What I didn't realise was just how difficult it is. I don't think I've ever had to focus so hard on anything in my life because timing is everything. Have a look at this wannabe circus performer in action. Can't wait to do it again!!

Happy 5th Birthday Oliver

Ollie, darling. Your cuddles and kisses and your sweet, nurturing and sharing nature are so precious. You are all heart, my dear, which does have its drawbacks, but as soon as you get control of those emotions, you are going to have the world wrapped around your little finger.

This year has been so full of big things. You've started full-time school and you're learning to read. You've gotten so tall and thin, and you're really starting to develop a downright goofy side. You've also shown a real knack for drawing and colouring, and amaze us at your bravery at trying new things even when you're not so sure about them at first.

You make us laugh, you frustrate us to the point of exploding, you wow us with your knack of figuring out how things work, and you warm our hearts with such perfect sweetness. And you quite regularly do all of these things many times each and every day. Love you to the moon and back and to the sun and back and to the universe and back. (Yep, I stole your line, babycakes!)
