Sure my hair was getting to be a bit much, but did Mommy really have to turn me into a military man? What was she thinking??? ~ Elliot

Videos
I sure get up to lots and lots of fun these days. Here's some videos of me in action.
Hanging with Mommy
Playing with Nacho in the big blocks
Attacking Mommy and Daddy on the bed
Playing in the closet
Talking to Mommy
And after all that fun, I'm just exhausted so it's time to put myself to bed. ~ Elliot

Thanks Gramma!!
You might have noticed how handsome I look in my new sweater. It's hand-knit from my very talented Gramma in the States. Mommy says I should also mention that it has a very cute matching hat, but I don't really do hats at the moment! I like that it's so soft and warm and big enough to last all winter and maybe even next winter too! ~ Elliot

A farmer's market at a real farm . . . what an absolutely brilliant concept!
Sunday we visited our local farmer's market which recently has been relocated to our local high school's working farm (I know, really cool!). Not only did we buy some gorgeous locally grown fruits and veggies and some homemade jam and sweets, but Elliot was ecstatic as he raced around petting and feeding the cows and sheep. (He wasn't so sure about the farm's enormous friendly pig which was alright with us!)
And if Elliot were writing this post, I'm pretty sure he'd say something like, "MOOOOOO" which is what he emphatically repeated all day as he pointed to and/or ran toward every animal he saw! It was a really fun morning!
Dudunt dudunt dudunt dunt dunt!
One of Mommy and Daddy's friends turned 40 and decided to celebrate with a day at the horse races which was super fun for me. I loved watching all the horsies walk by and also running around in the grass in my nappies with the other kiddies. Can you believe it is wintertime? It felt like summer to me!!! ~ Elliot

Addendum to so many words . . .
In the last couple of days, Elliot has added even more new words including 'moo' and 'balloon' and 'ball' and 'block' and, thanks to our neighbor Nikki, 'bitch'. He seems to really like the 'b' words.
I am utterly amazed at how quickly our little guy is learning new things. Now if only we could get him to say 'please' or 'thanks'. It seems that his incredible intellect is stunted in the manners department.

So many words . . .
Elliot's linguistic repertoire is growing by the day. Here's a list of the words he's mastered and what (we think) they mean:
'Mommy' means 'mommy' (duh!) and sometimes 'daddy' and sometimes 'I want . . .'
'Daddy' means 'daddy' and 'doggie' and 'dancing' and sometimes 'mommy'
'More' means 'more' and 'milk' and 'water'
'Nana' means 'nana' and 'banana' and I think he sometimes uses it for 'Nacho' too
'Baby' means 'baby' and sometimes 'peekaboo'
'Hi' means 'hi' (again duh!)
'Gunk' means 'truck'
'Bo' means 'Bo' that's his little dolly who he likes to give kisses and then hurl him onto the floor
'Quawk Quawk' is 'quack quack'
And of course there's 'No' which can mean anything from 'maybe' to 'hell no' to 'watch out, I'm doing something really naughty right now' (He seems to say it to himself when he's doing what he knows he shouldn't be doing which I find both hilarious and also really really helpful. If I hear Elliot say 'no' when he's alone in the other room, I know to come running!)

Holy chompers!!!
Our little guy has been having a mess of a time with teething. Over the weekend three teeth (his last incisor and two molars) broke through, and he's got two more big red swollen mince-meaty gummy mounds still giving him hell. He's been inconsolable and it breaks our hearts that nothing seems to be helping to alleviate the pain. (It has to be said that it's also not much fun to be up with him all night, but I guess we signed up for that when we decided to bring a little person into the world.) Any miracle solutions or folky cure-alls that you can share, would be wholeheartedly appreciated.
