This year, the boys' birthday party had a water theme. There were no magicians or bouncy castles or face painters, just some good old-fashioned sprinklers and slip-n-slides and a whole lot of happy kids. It was heart-warming to see how much fun the kids had just playing and hanging out without all of the fuss that we've come to expect from kids' birthday parties. The only glitch of the whole day was that Ollie's out-sourced birthday cake had Sophie's name on it instead. Nothing that a few choc chips and some poor cake-decorating skills couldn't fix!

Eggs
Our gorgeous girls are finally earning their keep with the most delicious fresh eggs (quite frequently with double yolks!!) Our very productive hens are laying two to three eggs a day, and frankly we're not sure what to do with all of them! Maybe we need a goat for some farm-fresh feta.

Basketball game
Mom and dad have been keeping us really busy with all sorts of new experiences. First it was the Giants and now they've taken us to our first professional basketball game. Ollie and I were eager members of the Red Army cheering on the Perth Wildcats (for the first half anyway). ~ Elliot

Giants
The Giants came to Perth and we wouldn't have missed it for the world!
First we watched the diver wake up and start looking for his niece.

Then we saw the little girl giant boating down one of Perth's busiest streets.

And then at long last, we saw them reunite down on the shore of Swan River.

There were hundreds of thousands of people, but everyone was so mesmerized and joyous by these enchanting giants and the incredible Lilliputians whose teamwork and acrobatics kept them in motion that everyone was on their very best behavior.
It was an amazingly unforgettable experience, and I'm so happy that the people of Perth supported such a massive event.

Nana's a video game junkie
Elliot's met his match. We had to give them both several warnings that it was time to turn off the wii and come to dinner!

Automotive love
I'm a very spoiled lady whose husband convinced she needed a new car. A brand new car! I always thought that new cars were a colossal waste of money. I'm reconsidering that sentiment. Because I'm a little bit in love with this beautiful hunk of metal.
