Birthday fun with the Tower girls

Since Elliot and Cailey and Jess weren't having birthday parties this year, we mamas decided to do something special to celebrate all four kiddies birthdays. And since the younger ones hadn't done it before (and also because it was forecast to be 42 that day), we decided to rock the ice arena. Elliot picked it up right where he left off last time, and Oliver took to the ice like he was born with skates on his feet. Best of all, Paul, Heidi, nor I hurt ourselves (a real concern after we watched one older fellow bite it and crack his head open).

After a great two hours on the ice, we decided to head to Freo for fish and chips. Lucky for us, a sculpture festival was on at South Beach which gave us an excellent reason to hang out and watch the sun go down.

The day was perfection! Pure and simple.

Elliot is Eight!

Our enigmatic, effervescent, and extra energetic Elliot has turned eight! And we couldn't be prouder of the little man that he is becoming. Instead of a big party this year, Elliot took a leaf from his mom's book and had a bit of a birthday festival. First up was a wee party with the family with some great presents and cake of course.

Then he and Marcus and Connor went and played laser tag (and let me play too). Who knew that the Thomas duo was so unstoppable, finishing second and third on our team of ten in both the games we played! Afterward, it was back to ours for a swim in the pool, a jump on the trampoline, and pizzas from Domino's.

And if that wasn't enough, we finished up with a trip to Adventure World with Claire, Ethan and Shyla. Both of our boys are proving to be fearless at the water park!

Of course, getting a mountain bike from Grumpy and an iPod from mom and dad made this birthday extra awesome!

(Nearly) The First Day of School

Mom really is hopeless. Every year she forgets to take our first-day-of-school-photo and then makes us pretend that it's the first day several days later. This year, that day was over a week later. Seriously, Mom?!? ~ Elliot
