Cricket

Look who's playing cricket this summer. And thanks to Milo (Australia's version of Ovaltine) just look at all the gear the boys got just for signing up!

And guess who copped a bat in the face at the very first practice?!? Yep, our Elliot! Thankfully no stitches were required just a couple of steristrips and a lot of ice!

Our new bathroom!

It's been a long time coming, but we've finally managed to redo our yucky peach and grey bathroom. Now we have two sinks, a bath that's worth getting into, and a much more up-to-date colour scheme. I love it!!

Meg and Adam visit from England!

It was so just fantastic getting to know Meg (Paul's cousin from England) and her fiance Adam. There was plenty of family time, but perhaps the most fun we had was the night that we showed them around some of the trendy small bars popping up all over Northbridge. After Vietnamese food at Lido, we headed to the edgy La Cholita for some mezcal shots and tequila cocktails. Some were yummy, others not so much. And then we were off to Frisk for gin cocktails served by hip alt-pin-up girls. Next up rum and my favourite bar of the night Sneaky Tony's with the prohibition era theme complete with the alley entrance and a password required to gain entry. The Dark and Stormy from there will go down as one of my favourite drinks ever! But we weren't done yet. Nope, we were off to the Americana themed bourbon bar Alabama Song for a bit of rye and live music behind the chicken wire. It was a super fun night with fabulous company. Can't wait to catch up with you both in England!

Dance for a Cure 2015

When Mom found out that we could do a flash-mob style dance and raise money for children's cancer you can bet that she was on that in a flash. We attended a couple of rehearsals and practiced our big number with the youtube'd choreography video at home for a month, and finally it was the big day.

On the train ride in to the city, Mom asked if I'd like to ask people on the train for donations, but I don't think she had any idea how persuasive I could be. I raised a whopping $80 in 20 minutes (plus another $20 from my Grumpy) and I was so proud of myself.

Once we got into the city, we got to put all the money into the tins and the ladies in charge were so impressed with Oliver and I. We even got our photo taken by their professional photographer.

Before long Rebeka and Rhiannon showed up. Did I tell you that they decided to join us too?

Ollie didn't want his photo taken.

So we did another one just for fun!

And then it was time for the big number.

And do you know what? We nailed it! Even Oliver.

And then it was over. All that practicing and excitement in the lead-up, and three and a half minutes later it was over. But Ollie and I both definitely want to do it next year. Would you like to join us? ~ Elliot

Fremantle Parade

For the first time since Elliot was just a baby we attended the Fremantle Festival Parade. But before the parade began, it was the spectators' responsibility to turn the parade route into a massive work of art. Here's Team Thomas's contribution:

And here are some of the cool folk who walked all over our art:

Halloween 2015

This year, it was the boys' idea to recycle their costumes from two years ago (which I can't believe still kinda fit) and make them much much scarier. This was the result:

The only bad thing about this Halloween is that Paul and I had a 40th birthday party later in the night so we didn't get to invite friends over and get really into it like we normally do. Thanks to Yvonne and Keith who came to watch our little sugar-crazed monster boys and man the house for all the Trick-or-Treaters.
