This is what happens when sixteen mums escape their families for the day in a pink hummer limousine for a high tea with bottomless champagne. It got a little messy, but was so so much fun!!

Ollie Day
This year Paul and I have really enjoyed each having a day on our own with Oliver while Elliot is in school. And we're becoming all too aware that we've only got another eight weeks and these special Ollie Days are going to come to an end.
That's why I've been trying to sneak in a couple of extra special Ollie Days before the end of the year, like this one where Ollie and I checked out this amazing new adventure playground in Perth. Ollie made dams in the stream, braved the rope bridge way up in the trees, and flew down the zip line dozens of times (after a couple of trial runs holding on to my hand).
Afterwards, it was time for burgers at Grill'd and even an ice cream before rushing back home to pick up Elliot at school. It was pretty much awesomeness!

Kelmscott Show
This year for the Kelmscott show we decided to do something different. We went on Friday night!
This meant no pony rides or animals to pet, but we still got to go on rides and get show bags and eat fairy floss.

Shyla and I watching Claire and Ethan on the bumper cars. Mom, Dad, Elliot and I tried the bumper cars too, and it was lots of fun!!

Would you believe that my crazy brother went on this ride with Mom, Shyla and Claire?!?!

This is more my kind of ride!

Elliot practicing to be an American Ninja Warrior and doing lots of face plants!
AND, we got to watch the firework show and the crazy motocross guys do big jumps and flips on their motorcycles with Shyla, Ethan, Mitch and Lochie. It was awesome!! (But I did kinda miss the animals.) ~ Oliver

Spring Break Staycation
Mom and Dad said that they couldn't handle Ollie and I fighting over the sink when we brushed our teeth any more, so they decided that we'd spend the October school holidays finally redoing the bathroom. It was a lot of hard work, and there's still heaps to do, but Ollie and I sure did have fun smashing the old bathroom out.
But of course we didn't work the whole time, we also did some really fun stuff like the day we went up to Yanchep National Park and walked around the lake hunting for geocaches and then went on a tour of Crystal Cave and admired all the pretty stalagmites and stalactites which we learned are really just pulverized ancient sea creatures mixed with water. Did you know that? Anyway, the guide really liked Ollie because he offered to bring her some of his crystals from home in case anyone broke some of the ones in the cave.
On the way home, we stopped by Wanneroo Botanic Garden where we played mini golf in the midst of these very pretty gardens. Would you believe that Mommy, Daddy and I each got a hole in one ON THE SAME HOLE!! And it wasn't an easy hole either, we're just really great golfers.
Another day we went down to Freo. We went to the Shipwreck Museum to hunt for rats, and ate churros and chocolate, and watched the awesome skaters and BMXers and practiced being American Ninja Warriors at the Esplanade Youth Plaza. Then it was down to the beach to watch the sunset and play in the sand while we gobbled up yummy fish and chips before the seagulls did.
We went on a kayak tour of the Canning River too and saw lots of cool birds. I was a really good paddler, but Ollie just sat back and let Mom or Dad do all the paddling.
And of course we also went to the Awesome Festival with Cailey and Jess just like we do every October school holidays. This time we went to a Hairy Maclary art exhibition, watched mini theatre shows inside garbage bins, ate up watermelon-lemonade icy poles and street tacos, and watched a really silly performance called Oddball where at the end of the show, the man actually swallowed a balloon and pooped it out as a balloon sculpture poodle!
So all in all not a bad staycation, don't you think? ~ Elliot
