Tumble Tots

After several terms off, the boys are back in Tumble Tots, and this time they get to do it together in the same class. (They let Ollie in even though he's technically a bit young after he smoked all the other kids in the baby class. Or maybe it had to do with his big brother being in class. Whatever.) And best of all, Paul gets to join us too as the class falls on Paul's non-teaching day this term.

So here's a run down on how the class goes:
  1. Free play on the obstacle courses, or with any of the many scooters, balls, riding toys, or other sporting equipment.
  2. A couple of songs/dances together as a group.
  3. Obstacle course time.
  4. Music time. Music plays and the kiddies jam on all the varied musical instruments.
  5. More songs and dances.
  6. Game time. This changes each week and can involve playing with a parachute or bean bags or ribbons (y'know like in rhythmic gymnastics).
  7. Good-bye song and hugs with Julie and Christina, the two warm funny ladies that lead the class.
It's such a fantastic class for the kids, and they just love it. Ollie has done the baby class, and Elliot has been doing it off and on since he was two. It's been pretty incredible to see how their balance and coordination and most of all self-confidence has grown so much because of it. And best of all, it's less than a third of the price of the fancy Gymbaroo class that I enrolled Elliot in when I was pregnant with Ollie and didn't know any better. And it's way more fun!! Have a look:

I dare say, I think these boys will be on the Australian national team for mens's gymnastics in a few short years....
