So proud of you Elliot!

At the end of October, after several emails and meetings with Elliot's teacher, the early learning coordinator and school principal, Elliot returned to school for the last term of the year. We knew that he had made big strides with his toileting and self-confidence since we pulled him out of school in March, but we were still so very nervous.

It wasn't a seamless transition back to school. In the first two weeks, we had two notes sent home: one because Elliot bit another child (I'm pretty sure he's never done that before!) and another because he hit a classmate (out of the blue in the middle of mat time!) And he has had a couple of small toileting accidents.

But mostly we're just elated that Elliot has adjusted back to school so marvelously. His first day back, all the other kids came running up to him like he was a movie star or something and made him feel so welcome.

On Monday we went to his school end-of-year concert, and he was a star: smiling and following along to all the dance moves and singing along.

And just today, Elliot participated in the school's reward day for all the kid's who have had good behaviour all year. He got a hot dog and icy pole for lunch and got to bring his bathers and slip and slide and splash in the water all afternoon.

And to top it all off we got El's end of year Report Card, and it is exactly the way I expected it to be - just fantastic. He's doing super well with the "academic" side of Kindy and showing big improvements in the social/behavioural aspects.

It is so heart-warming to see my little guy so happy and proud of himself to be back at school. Way to go sweetheart! We knew you could do it!
