To show Grumpy some of the new additions in Perth, Paul planned a fantastic day out. First we took the train to Claisebrook where we met Jeff and Deb for lunch at Claisebrook Cove. From there we caught one of Perth's new solar-powered water taxis to Elizabeth Caye. On the way, we got to check out the brand new football stadium being built across the river.
At Elizabeth Caye the boys played on the playground, we all had an ice cream, and then we moseyed through Stirling Gardens to ride on and stare down some wild kangaroos and waste some time until it got dark enough for us to admire Perth's xmas lights.
The good news is that I didn't get the date wrong like last time Grumpy was here, and the lights were actually up. The bad news is that they weren't really worth the wait. Nevermind, we've got some great lights in Mandurah that we're headed to in just a few days.
