Musings on baby number two

I don't know if it's because we're so busy with our construction project or if it's because Elliot keeps our minds occupied or if it's just because we've already been through this once before, but this pregnancy just seems so much more cruisey. It also seems to be going by so much more quickly. I can't believe that I'm already 17 weeks in!

I'm trying so hard to appreciate all the weird and wonderful things about being pregnant as this will almost certainly be my last chance to experience it, but honestly there've been quite a lot of times when I don't even think about being pregnant. I'm certainly not as worried all the time and that is a welcome treat!

My body is slowly changing in all the ways that I remember from before. My boobs are in full bloom and very tender! My belly is slowly changing in appearance and now finally beginning to look more like a pregnant tum and less like a beer belly.

But in other ways things seem very different. I didn't suffer from nausea as much this time as I did the last and my nose doesn't seem to have the same super powers as before. I've also felt this baby move from a lot earlier on, but the movements are much gentler and not as frequent as with Elliot. I like to think that this is because this little guy is a bit mellower, but maybe I'm just wishful thinking. It is awfully early still!

What I do know is that I'm already so excited to meet this little guy and I'm looking very forward to our next chance to see him at the 19 week scan. We'll be sure to tell you all about it!
