Home again and again

Just a quick update on the last couple of weeks . . .

A week ago Thursday Elliot went into surgery to have a PICC line (which is a more permanent IV that goes into his arm and runs all the way up almost to his heart) put in so that we could go home and he could continue to get his antibiotics intravenously. After a couple of hiccups with Elliot getting a cold and having some trouble with the anasthesia, we were finally able to go home on Monday with nurses coming twice a day to administer his antibiotics.

After ten days in hospital it was so good to be home again and sleeping in our own beds and doing normal family things like going for walks and hanging out in the park together. Unfortunately, on Wednesday the PICC line failed and we were back in hospital so Elliot could continue to get his antibiotics. Fortunately, on Thursday the doctors were successful once again in putting another PICC line in and we were able to go home yet again. Hopefully this will be our last trip into PMH; we're all very tired of the place.

Now we just have ten days or so left of nurses coming to the house morning and night, and fingers crossed, this little adventure will be behind us. We're very ready to get on with normal family stuff.

Thanks again to everyone for your concern and kind messages. I'm hoping to get some more photos posted soon and get on with posting about life being a mom. It has been quite a ride so far.
