More News

I wish that today's update was a little happier. Preliminary test results show that what appears to be the same infection has come back and this time has crossed the blood/brain barrier which means that little Elliot now has infection in his spinal/brain fluid as well as in his blood and urine. While this isn't good news, we are in a really good hospital, and his team of doctors (and Paul and I) are optimistic that we've caught the resurge of the infection before any permanent brain damage has been done.

Of course, it's likely that we'll be in hospital a while and everyone will be keeping a close eye on him. It's a bit early for me to know much more now, but we'll try and keep the blog updated on his progress when we find out more information after more tests are done.

For now, just know that Elliot while still quite uncomfortable has started to look like he's feeling a bit better. (At least his temperature has dropped and he's fussing less.) I wish we could do more to make this all easier on him; it's really heart-breaking to see someone so small going through so much. It's just not fair!!
