First stop: Cle Elum Cabin

Just two days after landing, we made our way into the beautiful Cascade Mountains to catch up with Rebecca and Amelia (before they had to fly back to Chattanooga) and Monica and Erik (who flew all the way from California just days before moving to Norway) in the shmancy 'cabin' we rented.

And despite Erik pretending to be Buzz Lightyear and flinging himself off the stairs and landing on his arm in a heap (the arm, it turns out, broke in the fall, poor little nugget), we had a fantastical time catching up and sharing stories on parenthood and life.

We made good use of the community pool, took a trip down to the lake to throw rocks, admired the gorgeous sunset views of the mountains from our deck, and stayed up too late drinking wine and eating ice cream and pop corn. Pretty perfect if you ask me!

Thanks so much, fellow mamacitas, for making the time and putting in the considerable effort so that we could get together again after all these years. I hope we don't have to wait as many years to do it again.
The girls on the deck with ice cream. Heaven!
