We were so lucky that our trip to Darwin coincided with the biggest event of the year, Northern Territory Day. In addition to all the normal Darwin fun stuff, like catching waves at the wave park, watching a movie (and rogue possums) at the moonlight cinema and just chilling at the caravan park swimming pool, we got to wander the stalls at the Mindil markets, laugh at some hilarious street performers, gobble up yummy paw paw salad and satay sticks, watch a spectacular beach sunset AND groove to an incredible concert by Neil Finn (lead man from Crowded House). The cherry on top was the awesome fireworks show at the end of the night. Not a bad day, indeed.
