Who knew that the center of Australia was so damn cold?!?

On the way to King's Canyon and Uluru, we had an overnight stop at the Erldunda Roadhouse, the geographic centre of Australia. But what we'll remember about the place was the layer of ice on the windscreen of the van when we woke up in the morning.

Our van was a bit low budget, you see, which meant that it was very very cosy and it also didn't have any heat unless the motor was running. This made getting out of bed in the morning very difficult especially when the temperature reached -2 degrees Celsius. On mornings like that, we made the sensible decision to forego breakfast and hit the road in our pyjamas so that we could warm up and pull over for brekkie once the sun had warmed things up a bit.
